Q and A with Thi:

What is a fun fact about your hometown?

The traffic is so lively in Ho Chi Minh City that even locals like me still hesitate to cross the street.

Why is being a King-Morgridge Scholar important to you?

To me, this scholarship is a proof that my voice and perspective on my community’s challenges are heard and valued. It places me among people who open my eyes to the world beyond my hometown. It makes me believe in my big and bold dreams. More than anything, it is a once-in-a-life-time chance to access a world-class education that had never seemed accessible to me before.

Are there specific issues in poverty alleviation or development that you would like to work on or are currently addressing?

I want to address waste management and renewable energy access in Vietnam. I wholeheartedly believe that sustainable solutions in these areas can reduce environmental damage while creating stable livelihoods for communities trapped in cycles of poverty.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love reading thrillers, thrifting and trying out new cafes.
